SIDART is a voluntary
organization founded in 1998 by a group of passionate and dedicated
individuals committed to the empowerment of poor and marginalized
women and children.
We aim to reach the unreachable.
The
organization aims to coordinate and collaborate the efforts of various
stakeholders including NGOs, government organizations, institutions and
academia in Rajasthan, India.
SIDART realizes the importance of local wisdom, knowledge
and resources and uses a facilitative, (not directive),
approach. SIDART leads a network of NGOs in Rajasthan sharing
information, providing technical support, hand holding and facilitating
collaborative activities amongst its members. Through this, SIDART
endeavors to foster the economic and social development of the
marginalized sections of the society with a particular focus on
women.
In recent years, the organization
has conducted numerous developmental activities centered on issues
surrounding women and girls, ranging from vocational trainings to
empower women, to awareness generation campaigns for HIV / AIDS, child
marriages and the installation of hand pumps for villages.
Presently
we run an HIV/ AIDS prevention clinic for the truckers and allied
population at VKIA in Jaipur,
Conduct
street plays on HIV and AIDS awareness
Vocational
trainings for Youth
Women empowerment project for
elected and to be elected women reprsentatives in the panchayats of
Sanganer. Forthcoming project is on Genearating awareness on
malnutrition using traditional art forms.
